A member of the Academic Institute of France,  Karim Fertikh  is the author of L’Invention de la social-démocratie allemande and editor, together with Heike Wieters and Bénédicte Zimmermann, of Sozialeuropa als Herausforderung, and together with Mathieu Hauchecorne and Nicolas Bué, of Les Programmes politiques. Genèses et usages. He wrote a number of articles on social-democracy and international social policies. He is member of the editorial board of the journal Biens symboliques/Symbolic Goods and deputy director of the Centre interdisciplinaire d’études et de recherches sur l’Allemagne, which promotes French-German cooperation and scientific discussion.
